Treasure Trove Art Batt 03 - 2.8 oz Scrappy Art Yarn Spinning Fiber
I've been spinning my Treasure Trove style of art yarn ever since I first got my drum carder in 2015. I got the idea for it when I realized how many little random fibers and scraps from my handspun and weavings I had collected, and thought of carding these fibers together to make these super colorful and textured yarns! Now you can spin your own scrappy art yarn using the same style of batt I use.
BATT SPECS -
2.8 oz / 78 g
This scrappy batt is carded with a hodgepodge of little treasures from my fiber stash. Every batt is totally unique and will not be repeated. Batts typically include a base of farm fresh wool or alpaca that is washed and prepped by hand, with any combination of the following: recycled sari silk, bits of cotton and yarn scraps, combed top, silk noils, ramie, tussah silk, faux cashmere, bamboo, recycled plastic from soda rings (Yes, seriously. It's quite soft too, and helps keep plastic out of our oceans by re-purposing it into something new!) and sparkles.
Tag me on Instagram with your spins from this batt for a chance to be featured on my page! Also, a tip to get more yarn from your batt: I like to make a single ply with my batt, then ply it with a strand of handspun combed top for a fun, marled look!
