I am just getting started starting this little online handspun yarn shop. Currently working on spinning up a bunch of yarn for YOU!
I'd like to tell you a little about myself and Serene Fiber Arts.
My name is Amanda and I've been crocheting since the age of 8, knitting since the age of 20. Now at 21, I am getting into making my own yarn from natural fibers and dyes. I love the world of fiber arts, I believe creativity is one of the best things for relieving stress and anxieties. I am starting SereneFiberArts to help other find their serenity through the fiber arts! I want to share with you my own handmade, beautiful, soft, soothing yarns so you can use them in your own serene fiber arts.
Why Serene Fiber Arts?I named my new yarn shop 'Serene Fiber Arts' because I know for many people, the fiber arts can be a way for people to express their creativity, and in turn reducing stress, helping people feel more zen, less anxious, less depressed. Knitting, Crochet, and other arts can be so healing for those quiet, creative souls wishing to express themselves some way. I myself have gone through many issues with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, chronic stress, and have found the fiber arts as my way to de-stress and move past those issues and feel truly serene.
First it was crochet, then I learned to knit to add onto my options, and now I am spinning my own wool and dyeing it to completely customize my projects to be truly unique. Any time I feel stressed or anxious or whatever else, I choose to crochet/knit/spin/craft and sip some nice warm herbal tea and this helps me calm down and think more clearly.
Fiber Arts aren't just a distraction, a way to kill time or distract from what's around you. Fiber Arts are truly healing, they help put your mind at ease, your breathing slow down to a relaxed state, relieving stress which thus brings you better health and well-being. Not only that, it's pretty freaking satisfying to make items from scratch, knowing you created that awesome thing with your own two hands. It allows you to share your love of creating by giving gifts to others, which spreads more positivity and lightness of heart into the world.
I hope you choose to become involved in the fiber arts if you aren't already and are looking for an outlet for your creative soul. Things can seem overwhelming or hard at times, but broken into smaller steps and looked at with a calm mind and compassion, anything can be accomplished.
STAY TUNED! And connect with me so you can stay up to date on new yarny arrivals to Serene Fiber Arts:
Thanks so much for following! Look forward to lots of beautiful, wooly goodness coming soon :)
